So why
Love Life… and Liquorice?
Throughout my Life I have Loved showing my creative side through a passion for art, interiors and especially clothing. In 2020, I began creating my own art using recycled wood. During this process it allowed me time to really think about my past & the possibilities of my future.
I never liked Liquorice as a child but it was a favourite of my Mums and so became my safe word for blocking bad energy, people, situations and the decisions I make.
This seemed the ideal name for my new website, bringing my collection of vintage and pre-loved clothes, accessories and interior decorations to others who are as passionate as me about style and unique and unusual pieces which are a little bit different from the norm.
In the 1990’s my journey began when I moved to London at 18 from a Lancashire farm to be a dancer and performer.
My passion for fashion first kicked off in The Garage on the Kings Road, (now the Bluebird Cafe) I love a good rummage, finding items that might not fit but can be changed, altering the cut, the length, removing the sleeves, turn a dress in to a top, a coat into a jacket or gillet or turn something inside out if it has a cool lining or different fabric. Repurposing trousers into shorts or dye the fabric if the colour isn’t working…add a bag, a belt, a hat - Everyone loves a good hat!
Moving to New York and living in Brooklyn for the last 20 years I have been able to express myself more with ‘anything goes’ ...adding to my wardrobe and my home with treasures found, re-loved and upcycled.
This website will bring you some vintage, antique, and pre-loved pieces of clothing, accessories and home interiors I have found... have a rummage yourself and enjoy
Love, Life and … Liquorice!
